Multi-Monitor Support
DTL Fleet Desktop can support workstation layouts with DTL Fleet screens spread across multiple monitors. This is meant for dispatch desks, maintenance counters, fuel/IFTA work, compliance review, and sysop workstations where one browser window is not enough.
Current Status
Desktop release 0.1.63 build 64 adds Settings > Multi-Screen Layout. The desktop app can restore saved secondary screens, keep them on valid monitors, remember window position changes, and let operators edit the layout from the Settings menu.
What It Does
- Supports up to three secondary DTL Fleet desktop screens.
- Opens each screen in its own controlled DTL Fleet browser window.
- Keeps outside links in the Windows default browser.
- Remembers the last valid position and size for each screen.
- Prevents saved screens from reopening off-screen.
- Falls back to the primary monitor if a saved monitor is unplugged or renamed by Windows.
Requirements
- DTL Fleet Desktop
0.1.63build64or newer. - Windows workstation with one, two, or three monitors.
- A valid desktop token and a logged-in DTL Fleet web session.
- Monitors should be connected before launching the app when using restore-on-startup layouts.
Open The Layout Editor
In the desktop app, open:
Settings > Multi-Screen Layout
Keyboard shortcut:
Ctrl+Shift+M
The layout editor lets an operator choose:
- Screen 1, Screen 2, and Screen 3.
- Which monitor each screen opens on.
- Which DTL Fleet workspace each screen should load.
- Whether the layout restores automatically when the desktop app starts.
- A recovery action to bring all secondary screens back to the primary monitor.
Layout Actions
- Save: stores the layout without opening screens.
- Save & Open: stores the layout and opens the selected screens immediately.
- Restore Saved Layout: opens the saved layout again.
- Bring All To Primary: moves secondary screens back to the primary monitor.
- Close Screens: closes the secondary screen windows without closing the main app.
- Reset Layout: clears the editor back to a disabled default layout.

If A Screen Opens In The Wrong Place
Windows can rename monitors after driver updates, docking changes, HDMI/DisplayPort swaps, or when a laptop is moved between desks. When DTL Fleet cannot find the saved monitor, it opens that screen on the primary monitor instead of leaving it off-screen.
Use Bring All To Primary to recover all secondary screens, then save the layout again.
Good Habits
- Connect all monitors before opening DTL Fleet Desktop.
- Keep the app updated so layout recovery improvements are installed.
- Save layouts again after changing docks, video cables, monitor order, or Windows display settings.
- Use simple layouts first, then add more screens once the workstation feels stable.
